I ask those of you to support your claims on the basis of facts.<br /><br />Here is what we know:<br />Captain and F/O were both very experienced in that aircraft. There is only one reason for a complete blackout of comms, and that is for the pilots to be unresponsive or for them to be incapacitated in some form that the idiots taking it over had no clue what they were doing. There are multiples of redundant systems on board, there are 2 or 3 of everything and there are 2 or 3 ways of doing the same thing on every single for hire aircraft out there. Even our training aircraft have the same redundant systems. The only answer is a lack of response from the flight crew.<br /><br />The first sign of an emergency is to get the information out as quickly as possible. In our case, its a matter of dialing 7700 on the transponder. Its easy, its quick, and it gets EVERYONES attention real fast. I know that in all US controlled radar areas alarms and klaxons start going nuts...and I assume that over there its the same way. <br /><br />With that being said: asking me to tell what I think happened is like asking me to win the lottery. Any number of things could have happened, but that is just my personal theory.
