What happens if I fail my APFT and I have a DD368 packet at Battalion (EPAT)?

You will get flagged and either the Command will deny your request for release.....or they will sign your release and let you transfer with the Flag in place......since APFT Flags are transferable.

Assuming you don't get flagged, you still won't be allowed on Active Duty because you are required to pass a PT test because you're prior service and won't go to Basic training. Even basic trainees are required to reach a certain level prior to shipping.
I can assume that if you get flagged your unit will probably shred your packet as well.

Are you transferring because you are moving out of the expected commuting distance? Do your best to retake (and pass) the APFT. One option, if you have moved away, is to RST the battle assemblies, and take the APFT with the new unit. (every unit I've been with hold tests every month for a variety of reasons.) Once you pass the test, have the official scorecard DA705, sent back to the old unit. Then your flag can be lifted and the 368 processed.

Now if you are trying to transfer to a unit that is within the same commuting distance as the current one, then you may end up having a situation as described by MSG Private RallyPoint Member earlier.

Going to active duty is a whole different ballgame. This is a contract change and not just a simple transfer. I am 90% sure that failing your test will stop the action.

I would put my time and energy on my fitness of I were you. In fact, don't even spend time responding to this. Put down the phone and start pushing... Then go take a nice long run!

Really is that simple. If you failed a Record, and it was recorded in DTMS as a record failure, you're going to have issues.

If you failed a diagnostic, or if you failed a record but it wasn't recorded...you're at your leadership's mercy as to when to retake it, and if your 368 will go further.

If it does continue, and even if it does get signed, you need to pass an APFT to assess to Active Duty. So make this not an issue. You need to get a passing score, now-- and get it recorded by your leadership.
