What happens if you pass RASP, but fail jump school afterwards?

Have a friend that has told me that in the 75th you go to RASP now before Airborne school. If that is the case what happens if you make it to rasp, earn that tan beret at the end and then go to jump school and somehow fail it? Does your option 40 contract defer? Are you just rolled, or are you sent “worldwide”? I’m just curious

Been many years since my “Bat” days in 3/75 but in those times failure to meet your part of the “contract” opened the sm to world wide reassignment in accordance with the needs of the Army . Having said that I’ve also seen senior NCO’s and or cadre “go to bat “ for those that seemed worthy of that effort . Sorry I do t have better answers . I can say that airborne school is a gut check for most but truly gravity and nerve driven ... best advice ,don’t fail. RLTW <3>

I'm not sure about this specific case, but the 75th can drop soldiers for a nebulous failure to maintain standards. SFC Private RallyPoint Member anything?

I cant imagine anyone going through the tough trials of RASP and then failing jump. From what I understand, there are two major types of failures. Those who can't handie the physical demands.-can't see that being an issue after RASP; and psychological - can't step off the plane. Again, I can't imagine soneone with the ability to gut check through RASP having issues jumping off the plane

Last I heard-only airborne qualifiers in the Rgt- Your not much good to them if you can get into the mission area.

I keep hearing this roomer about RASP then jump, so far they are just roomers. Yet, the answer is yes you would fail to meet the requirements of your contract therefore option 40 would be gone. Furthermore there are no more “leg” Rangers, so again you would lose your option. The only way out of jump for someone who made RASP would be major, catastrophic injury.

It is near impossible to fail jump school, aside from quitting or getting hurt. It is literally the EASIEST thing the Army offers. Turn your brain off for three weeks and play follow the leader.

Probably end up at Regiment HQ as a Remington Ranger or another kind of chairborne ranger. LOL
