It would be a long shot. Likely factors would be how over- or under-manned your MOS is and whether or not you can provide a &#39;compelling interest&#39;... If you had been accepted into a prestigious training program or school (or other similar opportunity) but you would have to be released from the Army-- at least from Active duty-- in order to pursue it, etc.<br /><br />That said-- If you enter a school already mentally prepared to fail out of it, you most likely will. It could be that it is a particularly hard school and you are just being a realist, but it sounds like you are accepting defeat before you step up to the plate. The Army wouldn&#39;t accept you into a school if they didn&#39;t think you had the aptitude to succeed in it, so don&#39;t sell yourself short. You may have an opportunity to try and reclass in the future. Are you planning on failing? You will be sent back to your MOS as needs of the Army. I other words, you just extended 5 years in you current MOS. if you have doubts about passing the new AIT, you better start researching and learning so you can get the new MOS.
