What happens to a soldier if they get injured during BLC and are unable to complete the course?

I understand the soldier will not be awarded completion of the course, but will they have a negative 1059, or any other negative action for something that is out of their control?

They will just have a non completion due medical condition.ive seen some with known cold weather injuries get medically dropped from the course when it was proven they couldn't continue.but they are always encouraged to try again after the cycle

I know this may be obvious, but you would also need to consider what the injury is and why it occurred.

They get a medical 1059 and They will be able to go again once healed up, as long as the injury didn’t stem from their own stupidity.

Their 1059 will say “SGT Snuffy was released from the course for medical reasons and can return when the circumstances that led to their release no longer present themselves”. I have written a lot of these 1059s. They do not reflect negatively upon the Soldier and it’s better to go home for medical than to risk further injury.

If they get dropped for something beyond their control I would expect there to be no issues with that. Injuries happen as much as it sucks to think about. Now getting dropped for other things is a different story.

My roommate in SLC was there for her second try because she got hurt the first time during the APFT. She got a medical exemption and came back. If you get a medical exemption you can come back and try again. It's only if you fail to complete any of the requirements that it's hard to get back and you get a negative 1059. So if you failed both APFTs and had no medial issue that would get a "failed to complete course standards."
