Not sure what they do with the families now. NAVSCOLEOD is no joke. Any distractions that keep you from being 100% focused on training can lead to problems. If your wife is pretty self sufficient and isn't mad that you spend all day in class and then study hall at night you should be good. Weekends are yours but don't loose sight of what's at the end of a year's worth of training. I was an instructor for over 5 years and saw lots of troops get derailed by loss of focus.
Best of luck when it comes time. I don't know about Lee but a call to the Army Liaison office at Eglin might get you the answer. Here are the digits, I think they are still current.
Army Students: [login to see] | DSN 875-1944 TSgt David L. My mentor and best friend was also a reclass a while ago but not much has changed on this topic. To explain it as simple as i can....

Phase 1: You will be TDY in route. You will stay in the barracks if they have room most likely they will have room. SSG are technically the only ones authorized off post housing for phase 1 ie hotel. Since you will be a MOS-T you should have your own room. But nothing is guaranteed.

Phase 2: This is when your family will be able to come with you since this phase is so long. This is considered a PCS so you will be authorized off post housing or on post. Just small info for you Niceville FL is closer to the school then Elgin is.

I hope this helps. I start my phase when i leave Korea so good luck when you start yours SGT Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 22 Jan 2021 07:19:25 -0500 2021-01-22T07:19:25-05:00 Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 22 at 2021 3:10 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-happens-to-my-family-during-eod-phase1?n=6683461&urlhash=6683461

Good question SGT Private RallyPoint Member ... Families are probably not encouraged to attend AIT-type courses while assigned at Ft. Lee, VA. They definitely have an IHG hotel where you'll stay, but there are no rooms for families, as all have queen sized beds in them. From what I can remember the rooms there are kind of small. I would not recommend bringing them, unless you have no alternate lodging (family or friends) for your family during this reclass school. I'd look for relatives somewhere where they can stay, so you can focus on your military school.
