Also, you would be housed in a hotel for a set number of nights based off of your mileage from your HOR to your unit.

2) Transfer to a unit that is closer to you

3) Request to RST if you can/when you can.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 30 at 2020 11:03 AM2020-04-30T11:03:50-04:002020-04-30T11:03:50-04:002LT Private RallyPoint Member5833758

A couple of caveats, you are not authorized to use your GTC for IDT travel without an exception to policy memo.
Your only authorized to RST a maximum of three consecutive months. So, transferring is your best option.
Go to the HRC Soldier portal >tools > vacancy search and find the units in your area with open positions.Response by 2LT Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 30 at 2020 11:33 AM2020-04-30T11:33:01-04:002020-04-30T11:33:01-04:00CW3 Private RallyPoint Member5836047

SPC Cruz,
You have a lot of great options here. Before you do anything, what I would do if I were you is go to hrc.army.mil/portal, log in with your CAC, and go to the Tools->Position Map (Vacancy Search). Put in your MOS, your rank, and your branch, and see what comes up. Click on Florida. Then try to contact that unit and let them know you're moving there in a few months, and would they accept you. If they would, get the information you'll need for the DA 4651 right away, and pass that to your S-1 when you're getting ready to move. They'll do your DA 4651.Response by CW3 Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 30 at 2020 10:01 PM2020-04-30T22:01:32-04:002020-04-30T22:01:32-04:00SPC(P) Brandon Jenkins5836056

If you havent already, I'm pretty sure you have to find the new unit you'd be drilling at (can do this through a career counselor), then you would have to get your current commander to release you to the new commander of that unit (assuming he/she will have a slot for you). I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that's the gist of it.Response by SPC(P) Brandon Jenkins made Apr 30 at 2020 10:06 PM2020-04-30T22:06:22-04:002020-04-30T22:06:22-04:002020-04-30T10:40:10-04:00
