What has been your favorite restaurant where you've been stationed?

What is your favorite restaurant from all the places you have been stationed?  Personally, mine is the "Ghengis Khan Mongolian BBQ" in Okinawa outside the main gate of Kadena. Don't know if it's still there but the food is great. I think knowing the better places to patronize will help service-members in deciding a place to dine at. 

Update: I'm adding "Mooyah's Burgers and Fries" and "Cheddars" to my list. Both are in the Foot Hood area.

This is going to sound corny and cliché, but Texas Road House is some of the best steaks I have had in years during many duty assignments.

I have enjoyed many foods and delicacies overseas and stateside, but I am a steak man born and raised, I am also a big seafood lover, but my favorite seafood establishment doesn't exist anymore, it is from my childhood, it was called the Chesapeake Bay Seafood House, anyone that grew up on the east coast from NC to NY during the 70s into the early 80s should know about this and remember it.

I still enjoy good seafood and there are many locations around the country that I have experienced great seafood, but steak is my passion, and until I move to Texas for my final home and retirement location I will have to settle for Texas Road House for my steak fix for now.

All time favorite, CoCo's Curry House...There used to be an all you eat/drink in Korea named Carne Station. It went out of business though :( Maybe because I gave them so much business.

Used to be a food truck at Bragg outside the mini mall that had good BBQ.

When I was at Fort Detrick we enjoyed hitting the places up that were on those show from Food Network.

Kuwait had a Mickey D's which at that time was like a frickin 6 star Gordon Ramsey event and the opening of Cinnabon in Iraq preceded by the mortaring of the Cinnabon in Iraq.

Damn, I sound like a fat kid after re-reading what I have. Oh, Hooters is a Godsend for TDYs.

The cordon blue and the pomme frits when I was stationed in Germany was too die for, and I really can't forget the awesome Korean food when I was stationed in Korea.

This is a hard question because I love food so much. Here is my list though.

Germany-Any dohner stand and imbiss
Italy-The Park Hotel in Chioggia and the pizza place outside Caserma Ederle in Vicenza
Qatar-Any restaurant in the old Souiq by the water and Palace
White Sands Missile Range-Si Senors in Las Cruces, Chicos Tacos in El Paso, and of course Whata Burger
Fort Leonard Wood-TK's Pizza and the Route 66 Dinner
And finally lets not forget the big Chow Hall in the green zone of Bahgdad I think it was calls the sports one, I can't remember, but it was huge and so good.

Santana's about 20 minutes outside of Grafenwoehr between the post and the Hotel Wiesend in Kulmain, Germany (circa 2005). Loved the German food and beverages!! The butcher shop at the hotel also made great sandwiches.

I wasn't stationed at this base, but I did some training there: Fort Carson, CO - in Colorado Springs: MacKenzie's Chop House - the absolute best restaurant my taste buds have ever had the joy of experiencing.

Adding a few more spots. Outside of Fort Hood is "Cheddar's" in Harker Heights. Really good food. Took my wife there for her birthday and we all loved it. For burgers, check out "Mooyah's" on the south side of 190, off of "W.S. Young Blvd". Definitely a very good burger place.

I liked "Five Guys" is Nashville, Pankcake house outside of gate four in Fort Campbell. I also like Bosa Nova outside of the main gate of Camp Casey.

At Ft. Bragg there's a Thai/Chinese place called Suwadee's. I absolutely love their Phad Thai. It's definitely my most visited restaurant.

Hard to say, there were a lot of good places. One that stands out in My mind though was Emerson Street East which was on Colfax Avenue in Denver, CO. This wasn't very far from Lowry AFB, CO which was bordered on By Denver and Aurora, CO where I was assigned in the 3415th Security Police Squadron (ATC)

If you are ever stationed at Fort hood, TX make sure you check out the waffle den, it's a hole in the wall place, but it's great food for cheap.

When I was in ('66 thru '78) going to a restaurant was a major splurge as back then, we weren't paid well enough. Still, one of my all-time favorite places was in Fairfax County on US Hwy 1, a few miles north of Ft. Belvoir. A small place that was simply named, "Mike's." At one time I guess it was a greasy spoon; but an Italian immigrant bought it in the mid 1970's. The purchase agreement did not allow him to change the name. I ETS's in Dec '78 but have been back their twice in the late 80's and mid 90's. The reason I could afford to eat there was my wife worked there.
The owner's name was (surprise!) Luigi Tonizzo, and his best friend back then was the pastry chef at the White House. You can imagine what his desserts were like! WOW!
Luigi's specialty was veal and I've yet to find any place with any veal nearly as good. While in the Army, he had really cleaned the place up ... vinyl table cloths, but the food was 5-Star! When I went back in the 80's, it was REALLY spiffed-up .. linen table cloths and framed newspaper articles about his success and he'd become famous and his prices reflected that! :( Still, it was worth going back. I don't recall if he still had pizza on the menu like he did when I was in the Army. Then, he would actually get angry when people world order pizza, "... because that's NOT ITALIAN FOOD!" Funny guy, but his pizza was still the best.
Oh no! I Googled Mike's and they closed in June 2011. So much for our going there during our next 437th/521st MP Companies Reunion!
