Step 1. Talk about it. That means not just the SHARP person but you the commander having an open dialogue with your company.

Discuss it and make sure you're enforcing zero tolerance. I just had to issue an LOC to an Airman because he was making women in the kitchen jokes after being told before jokes like that aren't ok. Hammer the point home with consistenty.

Make sure to address any new games, for example gay chicken and touch you're pregnant, and make the point clear about how this isn't high school.

When I was at Ft. Bliss my brigade did a SHARP land nav course. At each location were 2 VAs and once a company arrived at their station they discuss a topic and answer questions. I thought it was a very interesting approach. Being a VA it also, got myself thinking more outside the box on how to approach different issues and concerns.

Bring this question to your unit's huddle: " How many of you know your Victim Advocate (assuming they know what that is) and what SHARP is for? You'll be surprised. These [Blue on Blue assaults] had happened throughout today's and yesterdays' Army, because people think it wont happen in their unit. I am a SHARP VA for AFRICOM and just today I spoke with our newest service members in my directorate about this. I hope I didn't scare them too much about the threats out there. lol

Hate doing the whole 1 hour slide show thing, so if I'm not required to do it I won't. Normally just pick a specific topic to talk about, play a video so it's not you talking all the time and get Soldiers to relax instead of just hating every second of sitting there.
