What housing options are available for a Ssg in fort benning? I’m about to start my broadening time as a Drill SGt there. On or off post?

Not to bad... if you know your going to Sand Hill request for Paton Village. You’ll be super close to where you work. Only thing is in Paron and McGraw villages they take your whole BAH regardless of number of dependents and rank. I don’t agree with this!

Most floor plans found in the Benning housing areas can be found at villagesofbenning.com.
If you want to live off post I found houses on the Alabama side to be a little cheaper, and that wasnt looking at the trailers.

As a Drill Sergeant you may be required to stay in post, not too mention hat the amount of time you will spend on duty, you will want to be closer lessening the time away from home. Drill duty is extremely rewarding, but very taxing on the Family. Stay close, save time. Thank you for your service.

The Patton village housing is great, we have not locked our house in the 3 years we have lived here. You want on post rather off due to time you will be at work, plus crime is far lower on post. If you have kids in elementary school the on post schools are the best funded, middle school is ok lot of drama there and there is no high school on post. You will enjoy it here. Also for the freedom fest coming June 24 lady antebellum is playing on post for free
