Thankfully, I never had to deal with it. Worst I had the the battalion commander's son. He was worthless. Thought he was above everyone else. It didn't seem to change the battle rhythm, since they were both professionals about it. It just comes down to being able to turn off the switch. When I was at the academy, my director and my CO used to have regular screaming matches about excusing me for drill weekends. Luckily, my Colonel at work was a National Guardsman, so the rest of my career in law enforcement was smooth sailing. He's a police LT. I also have a TL(SGT) that works for said PFC(police LT-his shift supervisor). Plenty of good natured ribbing, but no issues.
