What if you were in charge of your Civilian Boss while serving in a Reserve /Guard unit ?

Absolutely, my boss is fat,lazy,sexist,and racist. Thankfully, I never had to deal with it. Worst I had the the battalion commander's son. He was worthless. Thought he was above everyone else. His mother was in "charge" of the wives auxiliary and the other wives couldn't stand her either.

They shouldn't be in the same platoon. You could probably get away with having them in the same company neither of you are higher than a squad level NCO.

No, but only if both agree to keep the job out of the unit.

Given human nature, I'd say that it will cause at least some friction.

I have seen it happen: a Corporal was in charge of a Staff Sergeant in the civilian world and it became flip-flopped in the Reserves. It didn't seem to change the battle rhythm, since they were both professionals about it. It just comes down to being able to turn off the switch.

You better believe it. When I was at the academy, my director and my CO used to have regular screaming matches about excusing me for drill weekends. Luckily, my Colonel at work was a National Guardsman, so the rest of my career in law enforcement was smooth sailing.

I've got a PFC in my PLT. He's a police LT. I also have a TL(SGT) that works for said PFC(police LT-his shift supervisor). Plenty of good natured ribbing, but no issues.
