And when you get out you get looked at for jobs better. I was at Lewis 2004-2008 and again 2013-2014 and had many medic friends that were in 62nd. They seemed to enjoy it. Their main goal is to provide medical support to the area that they are assigned. I was with one of the BNs from 11-14 I didn’t do anything clinical unless I was deployed. But it could be different from you. I will say his vein. Under the BDE, you could be assigned to the 47th Combat Support Hospital (CSH), 56th MMB, or within the actual BDE headquarters. If you want clinical time, I highly recommend whoever you get assigned, take your NREMT and get state certified. Then you can either find a volunteer fire department or maybe an ambulance company to work part time for. Some hospitals will hire EMTs as well. I worked part time during school school in an ER off of my EMT cert. So any unit you go to you could have “duty” at a hospital while still training and deploying with a forscom unit.
