What is 13J AIT like? Is there anything I should study in advance?

There is nothing you can really study in advance for any job in the military because you are going to run into the classified portions of training so they like to keep it controlled to the school house.

I’m a 13J, I was a 13D before the merge happened. Just pay attention to the radio class and manual gunnery. Majority of the knowledge will be gained at your future unit.

13J here, AIT is just a joke compared to what you're gonna be doing in your future unit. If you're fortunate enough, you'll be assigned to a cannon unit and study manual gunnery for degraded standards. Pay attention to your comms classes and charts and darts because that what you're going to be doing as an FDC guy.

Dont worry they will show and sternly tell you what you need to know. Show up, right uniform, on time , pay attention and your golden.

They’re going to teach you EVERYTHING you can do as a 13J. And you will forget over half of it by the time you get to your unit. What you DO with the information you learn will depend on if your S1, battalion level or platoon level. And remember, 90% of you job will be troubleshooting issues.
