What is 15W active duty life like?

I am currently in the national guard as a 12B and I am thinking about reclassing and going active for 15W. What is your daily life like? Do you fly a lot? How is your unit? And do you know if there are a lot of slots available? I've seen that it is hard to get a slot for school

Yes. We fly, we have to make so many hours each month. Getting training is hard since everyone want to do it.

Daily life depends on each UAS units job. For instance, combat battalion vs aviation battalion vs MI battalion all have different task list.

You'll spend a lot of time in the motorpool if you aren't in the field. The system is vehicle and trailer mounted. I'll leave it at that.

I'm not retention but I'd assume it's hard to get slots for 15C / 15W(U7). 15W / 15W(7D) should be readily available.

Do we fly a lot...when the equipment agrees with us and weather is favorable. Yes. If you're at a fixed location you'll likely fly more than a unit that has to go to the field every other month.

Q1. Normal daily life
Q2. Depends on Division requirements. Ft Campbell was a lot, since it is Aviation heavy.
Q3. Units are like high school classrooms, sometimes you like them, sometimes you don't. Just find a group of friends and ride out the semester/ assignment and ultimately move on.
Q4. Schoolhouse is full, but everyone can't hack it, so seat constantly become available.

If you arrive in country, and complete mission faster than anticipated 6mths, if not 9. All depends on the mission.

Same old same army life. At Campbell we fly a lot but we also have a very ambitious chain of command. The unit is good like a couple of others said find a niche, find a group of similarly minded folks and ride it out. For 15C which is what am, Great Eagle Operater, there are slot open and a lot of them. We are always undermanned and I'm pretty sure the concensus will be the same among other units.
