So I'm curious what the exact regulation is on commercial or non issued gloves for use with the army combat uniform, (ucp or ocp)

I looked over it, it says black plain, no logo, all fingers, etc, but I ask since my gloves have a black zipper on them to secure, a sfc gave me Greif about them today, I quoted ar 670-1 chapter 20-11 and it didn't mention zippers, but he said keep reading, so Its a conundrum

SPC (Join to see) - I hope that SFC never sees me. Mine have a Raider logo on them. But they're black. Well they do have a little silver on them. But mostly black.

SPC (Join to see) - Go to PEOSoldiers web site it has the listing of authorized non issue gloves, eye wear and boots that have passed safety testing.
The issue with gloves is that they also are a safety item so there is a feild vs garrison component. Part of the reason we started wearing them on deployments was for burn protection from flash fire, like is encountered in IED incidents, commanders have the authority to designate additional items for wear under the sub para about OCIE but they have to meet the safety standards.
In Garrison they should be plain black, no conundrum, no zippers; that is what the "black plain" part of black plain means in Army standards jargon.

I’ve never had any issues wearing non cif issue gloves as long as they’re all black. I’ve even seen some wear “mechanix” Gloves in the ocp Pattern.

Yeah same, if we want to be technical it says "no logos" so like 90% of all gloves people are wearing are unauthorized in essence

Its really a non-issue as long as they are black or ACU patterned then you should be good to go. Usually only at schools (e.g NCOES) does it have to be strictly the issued gloves.
