What is an appropriate definition for the Humor group on RallyPoint?

I have been taken to task for inappropriate tagging of humor over the past week or two. Since there is no description of Humor in the About section of this topic group I thought it made sense to ask this group what the definition should include or alternately exclude.
How would like to see the Humor group described? Why has nobody described it yet?

I agree with the major, but instead of funny stories and jokes, I see a lot of odd ball stuff stuck in Humor.

I don't know, alot of military humor can be offensive to certain groups. I personally don't give a rats ass, but those who would seek and be offended by such jokes would do so with angst. This, we should at least post a disclaimer stating the raunchiness of said page and warn of offensive nature and also that anyone seeking to be offended open page and that RP is not responsible for tears that would follow or hurt feelings. Oh, haha, RP should also provide a printable Hurt Feelings Report on every humor post. Just for added satire.

Humor is something that is funny. We don't all agree on what is funny, to be sure, but I follow the group so I can find funny things in my feed. I don't want news stories or anything else, really. I want funny military memes, hilarious stories about Drill Sergeants and Generals and Privates, and the best clean jokes on the internet. I don't want stuff put in the group just "to take the edge off" of a serious discussion or news update.

Hey I find it funny when a person gets kicked by a horse and lands about 6 feet later - after I'd told them several times about proper horsemanship skills and they don't listen, but hey I'm one sick old man. What's humor - that's like asking "What's normal". As long as we maintain our proper military bearing (I shouldn't have to explain this) then it's anyone's call.

Good question. Humor is hard to define because it tends to be personal. Think Readers Digest military humor and silly animals and kids. Hard to go wrong there.

Great question. Look at comments from comedians on the subject. Most will say that PC has killed Comedy. People today get offended over Here's Your Sign type material. Make a Group called The RP Group for the Perpetually Offended and I'll join for the comments alone.

I think humor is in the eye of the beholder. What is funny to some will no doubt cause others apoplexy and hurt feelings. Personally I think things are just skippy as they are. Seems there is quite a bit of "taking to task" over trivial faux pas as of late.

Its totally subjective. Some people claim to not be offended by comedy and that they want the days of not worrying about political correctness back, yet when they hear jokes about cops shooting people or jokes about Trump they pull their head back into their shell.

Humor will always be subjective, and have an objective. The objective is to find a place inside a person where we share a common bond. That isn't about loss or grief, but carries a cure for the depressing parts of them, dark humor, gallows humor, political satire, puns, knock knock, riddles, rhymes, songs, innuendo, limericks,, the types and styles of humor vary from culture to culture, region to region. But, the capacity to laugh, not including mentally challenged people, is universal. Finding ways to do it, and to get others to do it, is a calling in many people we call comedians. Give somebody a joke they can sell it. They come up with their own as a comeback or as a joke to express their emotions under the cover of laughter. We all do this. But, I don't think science, church, motivational quotes, words for today. These aren't meant to be funny, so they probably should have a better crowd than here. Leave the fantasy and fun here, take out the facts and put the lid on them.

There is nothing objective about it...it is only subjective depending on which admin you get to read it..
