What is day-to-day life like for a 31K?

So every kennels is different, but at my current kennels we wake up go to the kennels for AM feed and spray, Then we do PT 0900 is our normal work call from there we come in draw training aids and get dogs ready to go train. Head out to the training area (building, barracks, roadway, open area, etc.) Set up our training lane and then run the teams though. Once we are done with that we'll either run another lane or head back to the kennels for end of day duties. PM feed, spray runs, dog records, clean up the kennels, and take care of any admin stuff that we have. Thoughout the day it is up to the handler to make sure we make hours in obedience and detection.

I have had a lot of people tell me that switching from a 35S to a 31K and losing my clearance would be stupid, but the work i do now is not my cup of tea.

you won't lose your clearance. When it's time to renew your clearance, you will renew a Secret and not a TS. At the end of the day, what do you really want to do?

You will maintain a secret, so if you have a TS, it will likely be downgraded when you renew.
