What is drill weekend like for a 15t in the reserves? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-is-drill-weekend-like-for-a-15t-in-the-reserves <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hi everyone, I am currently planning on enlisting as a 15T in the reserves while in college. I was wondering what a typical drill weekend is like for that MOS? Also, do reservists get assigned to active Aviation Battalions or reserve ones? I bet only in the national guard, where you take care of their birds. I may be wrong. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 08 Aug 2019 17:43:05 -0400 2019-08-08T17:43:05-04:00 Response by SSG Andy Dietrich made Aug 26 at 2019 11:14 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-is-drill-weekend-like-for-a-15t-in-the-reserves?n=4960251&urlhash=4960251 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Go Guard. Way better benefits package than the reserve and you will know the unit you will be going into. Just be prepared for a longish AIT if you are already in school. Drill weekends for this unit usually encompass trainings of all sorts from 350-1 Annual stuff, to range time, and emphasis on flight academics. For this unit, they try to put new Tangos on 90-day orders for progression flights. After that, you fly your mins...sometimes over drill weekend, sometimes not. When not doing the mandatory training, the Tangos will do some maintenance, but in all honesty the civilians handle 90-95% of the actual maintenance tasks. As I said, this is for my unit that I support. The other units may have a different system. SPC Jessica McClung Thu, 29 Aug 2019 22:33:16 -0400 2019-08-29T22:33:16-04:00 2019-08-08T12:48:28-04:00
