I was thinking today about possibly a Pre-Com but to get people opinion firstWhat is everyone's opinion on Pre-Commissioning a ship?2015-07-10T16:37:20-04:00PO2 Private RallyPoint Member806205<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My wife and I have been thinking of what we want to do next after I finish shore duty and we both want to take a break from Sunny San Diego so her and the kids can tenement travel. Schools are the only good thing i can think of.Response by CPO Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 10 at 2015 7:08 PM2015-07-10T19:08:52-04:002015-07-10T19:08:52-04:00PO1 Mike Skidmore2696162<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Precom's can be a good thing, in terms of schooling. Once sea trials start it gets busy and frustrating. There are literally 1000's of kinks that need worked out after commissioning. Experienced these first hand as I commissioned the USS Howard in 2001.Response by PO1 Mike Skidmore made Jul 2 at 2017 7:07 PM2017-07-02T19:07:27-04:002017-07-02T19:07:27-04:00PO2 Everette Watts2719006<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It's slot of work, great schools, a chance to get acquainted with any upgrades to the equipment. Shakedown cruises keep you busy. Great to be a plank owner.Response by PO2 Everette Watts made Jul 10 at 2017 6:32 PM2017-07-10T18:32:24-04:002017-07-10T18:32:24-04:002015-07-10T16:37:20-04:00
