I’m a 25U and I’m heading to Stewart in couple of months. Don’t have an official unit yet but I’m assuming 3ID. Anyone know what it’s like as a 25U in 3ID. I wanna do the tactical communications part of my job more than the computer side. Anything helps! Thank you!

I have not been assigned to the 3rd ID in 20 years. What I can tell you is what I can tell you about other places and that's not to buy the first car you see. Do not buy a car locally. Reception station should have a list of establishments which are blacklisted meaning those are places where you cannot go. Lastly, you should learn the Dog Face soldier song. I wouldn't give a bean to be a fancy pants Marine....

I’m not a 25 series but very close with a few S6 NCOs. Seems like all the uniforms do 25B stuff all the time. Also a lot of or S6 junior soldiers are garbage. So my advice is don’t be garbage and you’ll have a better time.

Other than your actual job, Fort Stewart is what you make of it. Pray you go to 2nd Brigade who doesn’t do shit ever because I’m in 1st Brigade and we literally never stop going. The area is okay. If your outdoorsy then you’ll be fine. Savannah is cool the first time you go then it’s just a pain to drive to. Florida is close. Gotta see the bright side of it haha

depends on what unit you end up in,
if you land in 1st BDE get ready for a year of Korea.
If you land in 2nd BDE they are transitioning to an ABCT.
if you land in a combat arms battalion, you'll be tied to a commo cage, or in the HQ company until they send you to a line company
