What is it like for a guardsmen who is but on border patrol?

Recently was told that I'm one on the guardsmen selected for the border patrol. Since its kind of a weird thing not many people in my unit know what itll be like. So I'm just hoping to find a little insight, like if its considered a deployment or not? What does the job duty intale? And anything else you have that'll help.
