What is life like as a 42A in the 82nd? How often do I get to jump, and will I actually do stuff in the field or always be in an S1 shop? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-is-life-like-as-a-42a-in-the-82nd-how-often-do-i-get-to-jump-and-will-i-actually-do-stuff-in-the-field-or-always-be-in-an-s1-shop

Wed, 10 Oct 2018 19:34:05 -0400 What is life like as a 42A in the 82nd? S1 has important functions in the field. In the 82nd you'll jump just like everyone else. EVERYONE jumps in the 82nd. The only difference is what you do after link up. When you deploy, you take everybody capable of working. Minimum jump every 3 months to stay current and cover your jump pay. With that said in 21 yrs on status I have 326 jumps. As far as the field goes, I'll let others address that. I was a grunt, so our question was will we ever not be in the field.

Airborne! You will work in the S1 ship but when your in the field you can pull additional tastings. Its a pretty good place to work S1 and you will learn a lot.
