The surrounding town seemed nice and it is at the end of one of the BART lines so you can easily travel into SF, OAK, and the surrounding Bay Area. Dublin/Pleasanton is inland enough from the coast to allow more sunlight and warmer temps than in SF. The facilities seemed reasonable. There wasn't much on post but you're in town so you can travel off post for any needs. I was only there for two weeks for school so my perspective is biased towards short term tenancy, but from what I recall the SGL's and other Cadre seemed to like it. It is definitely a fun little base. It isn't Bragg. It isn't McCoy. It has a really small PX and no commy as it sits between two fun towns of Pleasanton and Dublin. The people there are great to work with, your a BART ride away from one the most beautiful places on the planet and only a few hours drive from multiple fun spots (tahoe, monterey, sacramento, SF, santa cruz). Be aware it gets HOT in the summer being on the western edge of the central valley. But great weather all year round. Take advantage of everything the Bay has to offer and you'll never be bored. When you get there, check out Denica's resturant. Military friendly and some of the best food around. It is a nice little post with many of fun things to do very close by. I enjoyed my time there. Sure it was missing some things like a big PX and a commissary, but the little PX had most of what you need except for major food items. Most installations are surrounded rural areas, this is not the case at Camp Parks. The base is small, however, everything u need is outside the gate.
