What is life like during 17C AIT? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-is-life-like-during-17c-ait

I know that EVERYTHING is up in the air with covid-19 right now so I'm aware that much is subject to change.

I've doing a ton of thinking and weighing options over the past few weeks/months. I have as of now decided on joining the Army as a 17C Cyber Operations Specialist. I am trying to get a feel for what is coming in my life as I know that there will be a tremendous amount of hard work and learning that I will be going through.

Recently I have seen that AIT for 17Cs has been cut from 45 weeks to 6 months and the first "section" was removed. Is this a true statement? And if so how does that change the pipeline for me moving forward?

I also was wondering how AIT for cyber compares to other branches? Is it more akin to AF tech school given the subject matter of the job? Or do you grunt it out for 6-12 months just like BCT? Either is fine... But obviously it would be nice to not feel like you're going through Basic for a year. Thank you all and I appreciate any advice and guidance, especially if you're already doing AIT or working in the MOS! The story sounded like BS to me. SSG Jim Earnest Wed, 09 Dec 2020 11:21:16 -0500 2020-12-09T11:21:16-05:00 2020-12-08T22:42:41-05:00
