Everybody either wants things to change or wants them to stay the way it was 'before the new generation'. Well some things ARE changing and and others ARE staying the same! What has changed that you'd like to keep and what would say 'good riddance' to?

I don't really have a dog in the fight, Sgt Joshua Anderson, but I'll sound off on the new Army tattoo policy changes. I think it was a bad move and done at the wrong time - a time when more and more young people are getting more and more tattoos. Heck, I have a couple tattoos (in my old age - I'm in my late 50s), and if I were to try to join the military now, I think I would be denied because I have one tattoo that is on my calf, and I believe that's no longer allowed.

A recent post on RallyPoint by a Soldier who is trying to go warrant officer from the IRR demonstrates - at least anecdotally - that this is a problem. He's probably otherwise qualified, but he can't get his foot in the door because he requires a waiver for a "sleeve" tattoo, and the Army is not issuing waivers.

I think the Army may have gone too far with this change, and I hope they dial it back a bit.

So I'll start by saying, I'm glad the Anual Report cards are getting revamped,.... For a long time now there has been 20 #1's in every platoon in the army... Eventually making senior promotions harder to identify. Now I'll say I wish they would have never needed to change them.

And I'm sure my next piece would either outrage the military in general or create a small revolt so I'll save it for another discussion
