I had my own personal KGB agent following me for several weeks (and I suspect for a longer period). I was a part of the first arms treaty with the former USSR.

Interesting you bring up beer and vodka. Many times when we met with our counterparts, vodka was a part of the formalities, even where I was. Also, due to the conditions of the water supply, we were advised to brush our teeth using something other than the local water - so we used their beer (although not the same as a Sam Adams or a Bud).

I hope so too. I did get the chance to chat with some of our CI folks when I arrived back in Germany about the "environment" in the USSR. We got off the airplane and went directly to their temporary office setup.

Oh man, that is so true. In the movie "I Am Legend" when Will Smith's dog turns to a zombie and he has to choke him out I get way out of control. Why did they have to do that to him? That K-9 had been with him through all the BS and was nothing but a great companion in this time of need. I sent an email to the director, Francis Lawrence, to let him know that his decision have the dog turn was not very impressive to me. This dog saved Will and only wanted to protect him and make him feel safe...I can't stop talking about this because this is the first time I have had to really vent to someone else that feels the same way. The other day I watch Riddick and he had a weird alien dog that he raised and it ended up being killed and AGAIN, that was the only thing I could focus on. How sad it is. I don't want to talk about this anymore because it is bringing up emotions I can't handle..LOL. I am with you PO1 John Miller!!!
