What is the 11C life like in a Ranger Battalion?

I've heard that being an 11c in batt is absolutely miserable. And that most guys rfs on purpose to get out of it and that you don't really get to do ranger stuff, and that they all reclass to 11b as soon as possible. Can someone help me out?

Yeah, from what I've heard, the Ranger Bats are the only place where being an 11C is a bad thing, and they won't use you for an 11B tasks. Everywhere else, the Charlies will just do Bravo shit when they aren't carrying their tubes around.

I've known a couple of 11Cs in Batt. One tried to quit but they wouldn't let him. I think he's still hanging in there. Another stayed for a few years then went on to the SFQC where he is currently succeeding. Both of those guys got their CIBs, and at least the first one did so while doing actual 11C stuff. I would see the Cs out doing some kind of mortar training, walking around carrying a lot of heavy stuff.

In my day quite different, my son was in bn for four years, very physically demanding, lol. And you will never get promoted in bn without a ranger tab/ school. My son is a triathlon runner but was medically dropped from the school. As soon as he left bn he was promoted. A lot of great guys go to bn but are never promoted without ranger school. Bad policy since rasp is required to be in ranger bn.
