As a result distortion continues to exist as a major factor in decision making. Essentially there are two 'truths' where one is right and the other is perceived. The real truth flows to the top from ground level as clear and crisp as it is given by the warfighter. In order to effectively move forward with efficiency and long term sustainability we must seek to understand reality versus perceived reality. The perceived reality often materializes around the middle echelon and is easily mistaken for the de facto reality when in fact it is far from it. This happens for a variety of reasons, but real leaders know when the reality is being muffled and constrained by political correctness, egotistical careerist, and this-is-the-way-we've-done-it-in-the-past managers. <br /><br />To be a visionary military leader in a hyper-globalized and technology fueled world requires thorough 360* thought leadership, the ability to effectively mitigate risk while maintaining mission focus, and accountability to those who look to us for guidance. We must be accountable and responsible any and all who are entrusted in our care. The shareholders -- military and civilian leaders, the men and women within our command and the American public require a different and unique pull of our time, and occasionally at the same time. Being the superior leader needed by our shareholders in the modern military is very tough and convoluted but will shape you to tackle any problems you may face. Even through it all, we should always remember to seek and know the ground truth. Once a leader understands this and is able to effectively put the pieces into play, our teams will conquer the world!Response by SSG Grady Brain made Jan 7 at 2016 10:43 PM2016-01-07T22:43:15-05:002016-01-07T22:43:15-05:00Sgt Rick Orzechowski1223048<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Do not lie to usResponse by Sgt Rick Orzechowski made Jan 8 at 2016 11:37 AM2016-01-08T11:37:11-05:002016-01-08T11:37:11-05:00SGT Justin Anderson1223513<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Honest, informed, fit (mentally/physically), caring, diligentResponse by SGT Justin Anderson made Jan 8 at 2016 2:58 PM2016-01-08T14:58:04-05:002016-01-08T14:58:04-05:001SG Private RallyPoint Member1233469<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Embrace change; adapt and overcomeResponse by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 13 at 2016 11:33 AM2016-01-13T11:33:52-05:002016-01-13T11:33:52-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member1233502<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Plans always change.
