Reality television is everywhere. Sometimes it is harder than ever for me to seperate fact from fiction now. For me, reality TV has made too many idiots celebrities, and has caused even news programs to try to fashion their approach to attract reality TV fans. Reality TV used to be a small blip on the television. Now, practically every channel has a reality show lineup. In your opinion, what is the BEST and what is the WORST reality TV show you have ever seen?

Any Amazing Race fans?
The worst one I've seen is "Here Comes Honeybooboo."

I like shows that highlight people's strengths, as opposed to focusing on people's weakness or interpersonal drama.

Take a couple cooking shows like Hell's Kitchen and Master Chef. I like Master Chef (especially Master Chef Jr.), but despise Hell's Kitchen. Master Chef Jr. highlights the great things about our society. The will to do better. An ever forward philosophy. Inventiveness. Hell's kitchen as that too... but it twists those things and let's the darkness out.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS how do you feel about losing Joe this season on Master Chef? I used to love his facial expressions and comments. I'm not sure how I feel about the new judge yet.

TSgt (Join to see) Still developing an opinion. I think he came across to "blunt" in many ways, which was both good and bad. When you have a show which based on what is essentially a Science which creates Art, the blurring between Objectivity and Subjectivity doesn't necessarily lend well to his personality type.

He was absolutely great with the kids though. I think we was infinitely more conscious of his interactions, and was applying "tact" more with them.

I don't want to compare our new judge to Joe though. She deserves to stand on her own merits, and I haven't developed a real opinion of her yet.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS, I can definitely agree with that. I am excited that they have a baker/pastry chef in the mix now since so many of the challenges require baking, yet they didn't have an expert judge in that arena.

Personal preference definitely kicking in here, but my favorite, and what I would say are the best, would be Master Chef and Master Chef Junior. You get a little bit of drama, mix in some competition, and see some amazing food come out. Gordon Ramsey isn't super over the top like on his other shows, but I do miss Joe Bastianich this season.

As for the worst, sadly, I must admit that the train wreck pulled me in and I just couldn't look away. Jersey Shore was amazingly horrible. Similarly, Catfish cracks me up every time. Sometimes, I just need to put something on, relax, and not have to think. These shows definitely meet that criteria. I would never call them "quality entertainment" though.

SGT Ben Keen, Luca Manfe (previous winner) is actually from Aviano, IT! His mom worked at the library on base, and they live a few miles from my house. We randomly see him when he comes to visit!

Is "The Real World" still a thing?

Anyways, I'm just going to group 99% of the shows on TLC into the Worst Side. That channel will make a show about anything giving nameless idiots their 15 seconds fame.

I do enjoy shows like Bar Rescue, To Catch A Contractor, Kitchen Nightmares and such because they are shows that showcase people using their knowledge and skills to help others.
