Team: This is a question that can generate a LOT of passion, and that is a good thing. Passion is required all too often to get through another day (or long and dangerous night). Where I was teaching last year, we had a CPT Marvin Branch (Chemical Corps), and he could always state factually that he was our Best Branch....
Seriously, my opinion is simple. The Best Branch is the one you need in the next 5 (or so) minutes (or miles). If you are injured on the battlefield, suddenly MEDEVAC Pilots are #1 in your book. Having issues getting your family cared for and suddenly you like the Admin (AG) and Finance Corps folks. Got something you want squashed, call the Armor, Infantry or Artillery (reach out and touch someone), or even the Apache Aviators.
Bottom line, no branch has all our studs or our duds, and we would not want it to be otherwise. Whichever Branch will become yours becomes a Force Multiplier if you approach it with diligence and passion. At the end of the day, if you have facilitated the effectiveness of the "pointy end of the spear," then you have done your job. If you are the pointy end of the spear, we owe you the best that we have.
