If i wasn't someone like the IG or JAG, then you failed to push the envelope. 2. If you left it with the commander- you could have used the open door policy (Army) and gone up the chain of command. 3. If you have left this fester long enough to ruin your career and suffer thru reprisal, then it might be too late to bring it back up- but IF it was a wrong- you should at least try. Wouldn't it wonderful if we could just be honest with one another? Isn't it sad that "telling", "ratting out or ratting on", and all the other metaphors are negatives instead of positives. Think of all the instances, such as school shootings, when people later admitted that they had noticed something hinky about the perp but were afraid to speak up. It really is a messed up world, isn't it? Remember no matter what always remain respectful and in control. Once someone loses control, it's sometimes easy to dismiss what they say. Good luck.
