What is the best glove for the field that you can still shoot with?

My oakleys finally gave out on me. Thinking about going with PIG but want to get more opinions before I give them a go.

I still have a set of modified Flight Gloves...
I soaked them in water and wore them till they were dry and shrank to fir my hands, and Pressed a cuff in them at the wrist...
took some rough grit sand paper and roughed up the fingers so they had good grip...
made a slit on the trigger finger to poke the finger out for positive Pressure control on the trigger

I always used flight gloves, but that was before all of the new high-speed stuff.

Deer hide always worked for me. Very soft, snug as a condom, and tough. Old school though, way before all these fancy-schpancy gloves came out. You can dye them to match uniform.

Can't say it's the right answer, but my favorite gloves was any pair I had on me for uniform requirements, but never wore! Last forever that way, and are the most comfortable. I got called out for it a few times, but usually got off the hook by explaining that I work manual labor for a living, and wearing gloves makes my hands sweat and tears my callouses off. The times that it didn't I sucked it up and put them on.

The only pair of gloves I've ever had that I actually liked were Voodoo Tactical Phantoms. They were quite comfortable for shooting. However, they didn't hold up worth a crap. So I never replaced them.

Like SFC Davis, l love issue flight gloves. Started wearing them in the field way back in '77 when I scrounged a pair from the battalion air officer. Great dexterity and quite warm. You can use them as liners inside thicker warmer gloves.

PIG gloves are good. You can even buy them with the little threads in the finger tips to use your smartphone. Good pair of gloves for a decent price.

Flight gloves are good/free. But pig breathes better and I can wear those and still get good trigger squeeze on the 2010

I use Mechanix (the blackout model without the out-standing logo). They're durable and flexible. I have the same pair that have lasted me three years (My Oakleys gave out on me after three months).

Youre a Scout, on a Brad. Nomex really should be the only gloves you should want to wear.

I used the Oakley because they were the most absorbant of all the gloves I tried. That's a really important aspect of the fabric. The blouse sucks at wiping your face while you are drenched in perspiration. So the gloves need to be fast wicking and washable by hand. But under best conditions the Oakley gloves last 6 months. Usually 3.

If sweat isn't an issue, I'd try some calfskin. feelsgoodman
