What is the best path to CID active/reserve? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-is-the-best-path-to-cid-active-reserve

Hello all
I am planning to re-enlist I served as a 0311 in the marines and since I got out I spent about 15 years in the financial field done retail banking lending asset protection from probate and underwriting retail operations compliance and loss prevention . My main goal is to become a CID I currently hold 3 AS (marketing/photovoltaic &energy efficiency / and resource and recycle management) the last two is because I am planning to move my family completely off the grid some time soon. However I want to peruse a career in financial crimes and terrorism funding. I currently hold a very well paid position doing underwriting and the money the military would pay would impact greatly in my family since my wife is a full time student got mortgage in Los Angeles etc. I wanted to initially join active but the pay cut made me hesitant. What is your opinion regarding what MOS I should enlist as that would provide me the greatest chance into gaining acceptance in to the CID program?
I’ve been told 31B is a good choice to start off but I also know that there are cryptologist intelligence and linguist (I speak write Spanish fluently native speaker and understand and can maintain a simple conversation in Portuguese) mos that are closely related ... as well as the last 2 offering enlistment bonuses.
Looking for advice as I love to learn from others instead of making mistakes and learning from that ...
thank y’all for your time and insight Fri, 21 Feb 2020 20:19:36 -0500 What is the best path to CID active/reserve? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-is-the-best-path-to-cid-active-reserve

Hello all
I am planning to re-enlist I served as a 0311 in the marines and since I got out I spent about 15 years in the financial field done retail banking lending asset protection from probate and underwriting retail operations compliance and loss prevention . If you can't initial enlist as a 31D then come in as infantry. That way you don't waste time in any AIT. You can apply to CID shortly after getting to your first duty station. If you are in Southern California, I would suggest making an appointment to see the CID recruiter at Fort Irwin outside of Barstow, CA. Since my retirement, they have initiated a program for direct selection of college graduates as CID warrants. They didn’t have the program when I retired, I do not know how it worked or whether it is still an active program.
