If you are not near one, you will have to shoot for the VA or a Private facility willing to allow you to shadow. The reason I say a teaching hospital is because patients who frequent them are more familiar with and accepting of students. Explain why you are there and sometimes some patients will allow you to see more than you usually would. I’m a current nursing student and we have to shadow as well.
