Army Reconnaissance Course. Non MOS Specific, but it is a course that is as hard as you make it. No completly right answer, it is how you apply what is taught to the problem. A course that makes you THINK!!

Jungle Training in Panama 1997.....It allowed me to compete with my Infantry Brothers and provided tough realistic training. They never should have shut it down.

Infantry Mortar Leadership Course, the instructors made it so easy to learn and pass the tests, since then I have not done anything cause I just graduated but I am going to bring out the plotting board and teach it to my soldiers.

I have a few that are kind of non-MOS specific: Sniper School in 1984, USAMU Close Quarters Marksmanship Course-2001, Protective Services Training Course-2004; all of these prepared me for survival

And now some MOS (95/31B): Counter Drug Field Tactical Police Operations-1991, Special Reaction Team (MP SWAT)-1992, Tactical Response Team Advanced-1994; these also prepared me for survival in the undercover realm of drug interdiction.

I sucked at school. The Navy taught me some learning techniques that were just the trick. Now once I had that tool. I would say TOPS School, Telecommunications Operations Specialist School. College Level Course for Telecommunications Managers. Chief Instructor had 2 colored pens, Red was wrong (Spelling, Grammatically, Technically) I think the other one was blue or green and that meant there was a better way to phrase it or do it, Not Technically Wrong but not quite right either.

Of all the training that I have received in the Army, and it's been a LOT of training, I have to say that going through the United States Army Drill Sergeant School has been the best training I have received. No, I did not go through when we were treated as if we were privates again. It was a professional course. That in no way took anything away from the training through. We were expected to live up to and Be the standard. I remember watching my DSL stand at Parade Rest EVERY time he stood and spoke to the SDSL or the 1SG. That impressed me that not only was I being taught how to do something, I was being shown by the instructors through their actions. The training at the USADSS has made me a better NCO.
