What is the best way to get my DD214 corrected?

I just found paperwork authorizing me the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal from back in 1997 but it's not on my DD214. The memorandum states that official orders are not required for me to wear it.

No reason to update the DD214 for AFEM. Just keep the orders with your 214 for those that would need that information.

So the short answer, you would need to contact Human Resource Command (HRC) and find out the process to get a DD 215, which to correct your DD 214.

Submit a DD form 149 located here; http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/forms/forminfo/forminfopage2137.html to the Army Review Boards Agency to get a DD 215 issued. You can submit online (http://arba.army.pentagon.mil/abcmr-app.cfm) or mail the form to;

I mailed in a DD 149 with all supporting documents and received a letter from the review board that I have not exhausted all my options. Not sure where to go from here?
