I've asked for vacancies but have no contact information for these units. Is this info available on HRC? What else can I do to get what I want out of the reserves? What is the best way to go about reclassifying in the Reserves?2019-02-24T11:36:56-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member4396945<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My unit and MOS are going away for good. If you do not know who that is, DM me and I will assist you. You can email me as well, [login to see] .Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 24 at 2019 12:40 PM2019-02-24T12:40:40-05:002019-02-24T12:40:40-05:00SGM Private RallyPoint Member4397535<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The way I see it, you have three options:<br />1. Get with your career counselor, or any Army Reserve Recruiter near you, and find out what is available within what you consider reasonable commuting distance.<br />2. Do the same as above with an Army National Guard recruiter, you would need a conditional release to pursue anything that comes up there.<br />3. Sit back and see where your RSC reassigns you as your unit closes out.Response by SGM Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 24 at 2019 3:49 PM2019-02-24T15:49:26-05:002019-02-24T15:49:26-05:00SGT Robert Andrews4398290<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When I moved to reserves my most was not a reserve mos. On my new contract I was offered Mos that was available with units in my area. If I wanted a different one I would have been assigned to a unit that would have required a hotel stay. Check with a reserve recuriter to see what is in need and where you fitResponse by SGT Robert Andrews made Feb 24 at 2019 9:02 PM2019-02-24T21:02:05-05:002019-02-24T21:02:05-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member4513545<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Your unit's Retention NCO/Career Counselor has access to the information you are looking for. It is very difficult for individual Soldiers to get the updated info for units, and almost impossible to get vacancy information. If your Retention NCO is unable or unwilling to assist you, some Army Recruiters have access to the information as well. Before I found this much out, I used FB and messaged units to get the information I was looking for when I had to switch MOS (twice).Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 4 at 2019 11:57 AM2019-04-04T11:57:14-04:002019-04-04T11:57:14-04:002019-02-24T11:36:56-05:00
