All of the questions you are asking on here are things that can be answered by this one person. I am not trying to be ugly but make a list of EVERY question you have, call a recruiter for the branch and component you want to go into and take your list of questions to the appointment. It's THAT easy!!!!! Being a soldier however you must stay fit. Always improve yourself. Cardio is the most important. Running for instance but I would recommend strength training as well. If you have the interest I would recommend some kind of martial art. I don't know what MOS you want but if you want to be a warrior then prepare for battle physically and mentally. Mental toughness is paramount. Good Luck. Don’t drink the night before. Don’t do anything stupid. Get plenty of rest. Set your own alarm before the wake up call. Don’t be that guy who holds up the bus. At MEPS listen and do what you’re told. Be prepared for a lot of hurry up and wait. Get to know your fellow recruits. This is your first taste of military life. Hence be prepared to hurry up and wait. Lots of sitting and waiting to process through various stations. Listen and do what you’re told. Enjoy the underwear olympics. It’s like a right of passage in the military. Did I mention listen and do what you’re told?

Lastly, thanks for wanting to serve. I wish more folks had the desire to serve. Good luck and enjoy the first step in your adventure! There’s really nothing to prepare for except sitting around and being told to shut the hell up at least a million times lol! You cant have your phone, can’t talk, and all you do is sit down and take one test after another. Just get some sleep the night before, eat a light breakfast and drink water, and don’t pee until its time for a urine test. You will get blood taken, urine test, vision test, hearing test, verification test (for your test scores to make sure you didn’t cheat), a interview asking questions about your health and previous job employment, and you will have a checkup with a male doctor where they check your personal area to make sure nothing is abnormal. Other then that you’ll eat, pick a job, sign a contract, and finally swear into your branch. Good luck!
