The best way to show respect for Veterans is not a single way but rather a combination of ways at multiple levels from individual to national. Some examples:
- Individual. Know what the Constitution says, fulfill the duties of citizenship, if you hate war then separate your hatred of war from the warrior.
- Local. Support events such as Veteran's Day and Memorial Day. Teach children about the sacrifices of veterans. People do not value what they do not know about and what they do not see valued by society.
- State. Don't tax retired pay. Provide incentives to service members and veterans to show that their service is valuable and valued.
- National. Keep promises that were made to military members who are now veterans. This includes but not limited to: do not reduce benefits or change the rules after the game has been played, fix the VA, deliver on what was promised.

You respect our veterans by taking pride in your country and the freedoms you have. Learn your countries history so you can remember those who fought for your way of life. Pass this pride and respect on to your children so they can grow up understanding that what we have is because of the brave men and woman who served. Saying thankyou for your service may seem a little cheesey but it lets the veteran know that you appreciate them and what they do! Great survey!

I think that showing them that you love your country and enjoy all freedoms we have will tell our Veterans that what they have sacrificed for is greatly appreciated. Tell them thank you and that you appreciate what they have done to secure our way of life.

When I go to the VA pharmacy I always sit down and talk to veterans. More often than not, they love talking about their careers as a wisp of greater times in their lives. I listen to them because it is not about me.

It's nice that people say thank you for your service. I mean, thanks for the recognition but we need people to let their elected officials know that they are not doing enough. Stop with the whole liberal/conservative thing. Neither party is doing anything to help with the VA and now we have this clown comparing wait times to Disneyland. "Everyone loves a soldier until they come back home."
