I have 2 visible tattoos in uniform that I’ve had for 2-3 years. When the policy was revised one of them is out of regulation, but at the time my SNCO told me it was fine. Now I’m putting in a reenlistment package and its not within regs and there’s no documentation of it prior to the revision date. The Command should be current. Career Planner and Chain of Command can get straight scoop if this is not it. Always best if in doubt, to go to the Order because scuttlebutt is often bum scoop. Seen lots of people getting in trouble over tattoo policy changes, just because it was never documented when it was allowed.
