What is the difference between AGR recruiter and regular active recruiter?

AGR are Active Reservist. (Active Guard Reserve). They actually fall under different...or at least did...authorities. The Regular Army under Title 10 and the AGR Title 32...or at least they did.

The line has blurred greatly in the last decade but there are still pretty big differences.

Regular Active Recruiter-stock the talent pool; AGR-maintain the current talent pool.

SGT Private RallyPoint Member I know you seen the answers below from others and in my BN, we have a lot of AGR Recruiters, especially OCONUS like: Hawaii and Guam. We also cover other areas on the Pacific Rim to include Saipan, FSM, Japan, S. Korea and other smaller islands. AGR Recruiters are key to making our mission on the AR side. Our DEP Trips alone can bring in 75-90+ enlistment contracts out of American Samoa alone. That is huge for Guam Company and our BN mission. I think Upland is within our CENTCAL or LA BNs so feel free to reach out to one the centers and ask more if you like.

AGR (Army Reserve) recruiters are detailed for a 3 year special duty assignment, or assigned to USAREC in MOS 79R. The only difference is you are assigned a USAR recruiting mission, and you maintain relationships with USAR units in your area. You will have no affiliation with a USAR unit, you belong to USAREC and your chain of command is the same as the Regular Army Recruiters. Your place of duty is the recruiting center working side by side with Regular Army Recruiters, but you are recruiting for the Army Reserve.

Nothing. I am currently an AGR recruiter. We work alongside active duty and have the same mission as they do.

In the guard it's a permenant assignment. Once you convert to a career recruiter good luck ever getting out of recruiting.

Also, the big difference is if you don't make mission consistently in the guard you'll most likely be fired. Active and even reserve it's only a three year or so assignment.
