What is the likelihood of getting accepted to reclassify from 31E to 35L if I had a felony breaking and entering conviction in 2005?

I am looking into dropping a packet to reclass...But I am unsure if it would be pointless to due to the fact I need to hold a TS. Will I be accepted if I have a Felony B & E in 2005?

Sorry, you will have a rough time getting a TS with this. That being said, you might still have a chance in that it was over ten years ago and (assuming) not while you were in the Army. Talk with a CI field office and ask them and they will know the latest. However, I would not get your hopes up.

SGT Cornelius, I doubt you'd be able to obtain the TS clearance needed with that conviction on your record. I thought the suggestion of contacting your local CI Field Office and talking to them was a good one, though. They'd be able to give you the most up-to-date information.

As a CI Tech and Agent since 1988 - In all honesty, zero chance. I can't see this happening due to the security clearance aspect nor could I envision you making it through the screening, which includes a LOT of hoops with OCMI at the end. I would avoid any MOS requiring a TS but CI is out. Sorry to not be more positive but I'm being straight up with you.

I wouldn’t worry about the clearance as much as getting through the selection process with the charge. The B&E can be overcome with time and distance so I wouldn’t sweat that part. Having the CI program except you with a B&E will be your hurdle. The fact that this happened only three years ago will not go well. Also, if you are a SGT and this happened three years ago 35L is probably not the place for you. I used to approve every packet in the Guard and I would have to question if a CI provided a positive endorsement for your application. I turn down people for less. Sorry-

I got a felony when I was 17 but case was sealed and expunged after I did my community service and paid restitution, I am 20 now and I have already been through meps and I have signed my contract as 25N and I ship out to basic in June , will the fbi investigator find out about my juvenile record or am I good ? I didn’t tell them at meps cause the recruiter and station commander told me to lie about it , but I want to hear from someone else
