What is the likely event I get to go to ranger school?

If I get stationed at Benning for drill what is the likely event I get to do ranger school while there. I mean there's only like 2 week between cycles right? Has any other drills successfully went through ranger school while on the trail.

From what I’ve heard from other guys on the trail, you’ll be afforded the opportunity after 1yr. That’s not that long, start getting ready!

It all depends on your CMD. I had a buddy while in trail he was authorize by the CMD to attend Ranger school and then went for SFAS before he puts away his brown hat. But, hey GOOD LUCK! Im sure if approach and pitch it to your CMD that its for your career and it also opens doors for ypu if you decide to make it a career.

I can't imagine a unit releasing you to attend Ranger School while on Drill Sergeant Duty. Unless something has changed to the unit manning reg and the TRADOC personnel utilization supplement that would be prohibited. You can probably work with your branch to attend after your Drill Sergeant tour is complete en-route to your next assignment.
