What is the “Long March” the 11th ACR does?

Do they really march the 35 miles, (my guestimate), from NTC to the CA Veterans Home in Barstow? A Wall Street Journal newspaper photo, (Dec 13, 2018), shows a few Stetsons on the leaders and no canteens on the troops.

LTC Stephen C. Bn there done that. Last I checked, MG Pete Gravett, former 40th ID Cdr, and earlier Provost Marshall 40th ID, was Secretary Veteran’s Department of CA.

Wall Street Journal published a picture of the march into Barstow within the last week or two. I don't remember the day. Why walk when you can ride? Deuce and a half to the outskirts of Barstow.
