After completing multiple programs for a back injury I received a profile for recommendation for MEB and authorized by another doctor in authorization block, does that mean the medical board has been initiated? If so what is the process to follow and tips to make it a smooth transition

It probably means you have a permanent profile that is incompatible with continued service. You will work with the VA (usually on post) to get a physical and prepare a cursory % of disability. The PEBLO is like the military belly button. He/she will route your packet to include get a military % for you.

Appealing your military percentage is relatively easy as the PEPLO will show you your % and the definitions for the %. You appeal military % through the PEBLO. The VA will give you a % and definitions. There are various ways to appeal the VA %.

This is true you should be appointed a PEBLO. The process is tied in with the va now

Read AR 40-501, chapter 3, which if your impairment is listed in chapter 3, then you do not meet retention standards, and must be MB. see AR 635-40 para 4-10
