What is the minimum PT requirement for prior service (when re-enlisting)?

My husband is re-enlisting and waiting on an RE-3 waiver and is working towards getting in shape again (he's been out for almost 2 years). His recruiter only said he would need to take a PT test before he signed, but didn't tell him minimum scores. Some sites are saying he would need a 50 in all categories, some say he needs a 60. Wasn't sure if anyone knew from experience?

Without knowing which branch your husband is reenlisting into, it's hard to offer specific information. This site is a good resource to look into.

Tell him to focus on what he needs to do to get 100 points. Push for that and the rest will take care of itself. I understand that he's trying to get back in shape, but never shoot for the minimum. Good luck to him.

If its army, then it is the 60. although you should always shoot for higher. I had to take one as well when i switched from the guard to active.

Jackelyn Gelsomini The link below lists the Army standard. As others have mentioned. your husband should have a goal of much higher than the minimum scores, since this test will need to be repeated during his enlistment.

He will be taking a standard PT test. There aren’t special prior enlisted standards to meet.
