He gave a short prayer and then a short speech. I have remembered it and to me it was a turning point in my life. <br />He said take a look around you, there are 80 men in this room and at this moment you are all equal. It does not matter how much money your parents have or don’t have, It does not matter how well you did in school. You are no better or worse than any other man in this room. The Navy offers each of you the same opportunity. This will be the last time in your lives that you are no better or worse than anyone else. What you make of this clean slate is up to you.
