Is there a number of required asylums that a country must authorize? 1 million, 3 million, or a percent of the population? Is there a legal requirement? What must each one of them be given? How much funds and toiletry items?

No country HAS to take in or authorize asylum seekers. Most do however take in some. The US currently sets a maximum threshold but there is no minimum.

Might not be a bad idea for us to set a maximum number we take in every year, that way we could deal with the numbers much more easily and effectively.

Problem is people take advantage and exploit the asylum system in this country. Wanting to come here just to work and improve your quality of life is a very good reason, but it does not qualify for asylum. Coming into this country illegally and demanding your "rights" is a slap in the face to all the immigrants who are respecting our laws and country and going about it legally.

This is the estimated cost of resettling refugees and climbing. Along with another problem.
