But, when I first heard of it, while I was on active duty, they ONLY insured active duty officers. Ok, no big deal. So, I retire, and, all of a sudden, USAA was accepting SNCOs, which I was one. But, you had to be on active duty, and I had just retired. SO, I continue on my merry way, and then I hear that USAA accepts ANYBODY, service related, except for RETIREES! No problem, as Allstate and the gecko were still there. After awhile, I hear that they take retirees now. Big whoop! Why not when I NEEDED good quality, less expensive insurance on my cars? Any way, Sometime later, I was told USAA was insuring ANYBODY, just come on! Well, that just pissed me off, all the more! SO, after 33 years of marriage, and 20+ years Active Duty, followed by some years as a Civil Servant, I got USAA insurance on my cars and my very first home. So, I go to USAA to see about buying a new car for my wife. Lo and behold, USAA is a BANK, not a Credit Union! I'll continue to use USAA for my car and house insurance, and I would recommend it for most folks, BUT, I'm still a little hacked off at them, for taking about 20 years to finally get to where I could do business with them. USAA is a pretty good insurance outfit, but, I have no knowledge of their Financial business.Response by MSgt Jesse Tiede made Oct 22 at 2019 4:01 PM2019-10-22T16:01:58-04:002019-10-22T16:01:58-04:00FA Jackie Schlageter5155429<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My husband and I spent a fortune on car insurance till we saw a commercial for it on the TV. We spend about 10% of what we were paying for 4 cars each month. $49 is better than $490 a month. When we end up paying off our mortgage we will sign up for insurance for the house then. We will have to because the insurance on the house was included in our mortgage and only costs us about $39 a month.Response by FA Jackie Schlageter made Oct 22 at 2019 6:25 PM2019-10-22T18:25:45-04:002019-10-22T18:25:45-04:00CPT Aaron Kletzing5155536<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>A few furniture pieces in my bedroom set got broken during my move.
