There's a few steps in the process.
First, get the support of your chain of command. They probably want to know why, and can support you.
Second, get with the G1 shop in your state, via your S1 chain. Find out who can point you in the right direction for local procedures to follow and who to send things to.
Next, contact the 3 shop to enroll in training. You can take the Combined Logistics Captain Career Course via distance learning. You might not even need to go through the 3 shop for it. Then enroll in the resident phase.

Somewhere in this chain there may include a transfer to another unit. It's hard to justify sending an officer to a school outside his career field if that officer isn't in a logistics slot. Thems the brakes.

National Guard officers should cultivate a number of different career fields, to allow mobility.LTC Private RallyPoint MemberFri, 16 Oct 2015 14:51:39 -04002015-10-16T14:51:39-04:00Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 16 at 2015 3:49 PM

Logistic's CCC seems to be a preferred choice among FA officers too. If you intend on a transfer, wouldn't you need a slot/ gaining unit?MAJ Private RallyPoint MemberFri, 16 Oct 2015 15:49:04 -04002015-10-16T15:49:04-04:00Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 16 at 2015 6:58 PM

MAJ James Grose is spot on. My first step would be talking to your Bn CO. If there is a Log position opening up in the Bn, he could slot you into it, which would prompt/justify the school. Let the BC know you are interested in going logistics, often that is all it will take.LTC Private RallyPoint MemberFri, 16 Oct 2015 18:58:24 -04002015-10-16T18:58:24-04:00Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 17 at 2015 6:22 AM

I'd like to thank everyone for their responses. I have discussed this transfer with the G1 who happens to be my Bn CO. This transfer was a recommendation by my COC and the OAB board so I believe it to be supported all around. My main concern was that the state will be unable to place me in a Logistic slot until I was branch qualified, but it sounds like I can be placed in the slot while I go to school?
MAJ Grose - I have taken your advice and reached out to enroll in the DL phase of the Logistics Career course which I am hoping helps me justify being placed in a current Log slot.

Thanks again for the replies,
CPT RoysMAJ Private RallyPoint MemberSat, 17 Oct 2015 06:22:39 -04002015-10-17T06:22:39-04:00Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 5 at 2015 2:55 AM

This is a bit late, sir, but it's not very difficult at all (although it's quite arduous).

Basically, you are currently fedrec'ed as a 25A. You are eligible to attend any RCCC that you wish (which is the way to begin a branch transfer). Once you have completed the qualification course (or transition course), you need to re-apply for federal recognition in your new branch. Now, the only issue that has been occurring recently is that proponent (meaning the branch) apparently also has a say now. So if the Quartermaster Corps says there's too many LOG captains, why are we making another one, that could create some issues in the pipeline, but I generally don't see why in this particular case it would.CPT Private RallyPoint MemberThu, 05 Nov 2015 02:55:13 -05002015-11-05T02:55:13-05:00Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made May 11 at 2018 12:12 AM
